For the first time in the state, the Postal Department in Jalandhar has started the Sunday delivery service of Speed Post.
Speaking to Jalandhar Tribune, assistant superintendent of the department, Kailash Sharma said the step had been taken following the long-pending demand of local residents.
He said they had also started the same-day local Speed Post delivery. The Speed Post delivery that was booked before 10 in the morning for local areas would be delivered the same day, he added.
The ASP said the Speed Post delivery counter would be opened 24/7 in the city. “We have also separated the parcel delivery from general posts. A van of the department will deliver the parcels separately in the city,” he added. — TNS
