A person suspectedly suffering from dengue in the local Civil Hospital died during the treatment.
As per information, Ninder (45), a resident of Jandu Singha, Jalandhar, who is at present residing at Rahimpur was working as a labourer. He was suffering from fever for the past few days and his platelet count was also low. He was brought to Hoshiarpur for treatment today. Later, he breathed his last.
District epidemiologist Shailesh said there was no official information about the matter. He said due to viral fever too, platelets of many patients were reduced but they were not tested negative for dengue.
He said: “There are 80 per cent less cases of dengue than the previous year. In the district, 285 patients had reported till date of which 94 belonged to Hoshiarpur city.”
