Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar, organised demonstration of teaching skills on Monday. The alumni members of the college –Bimalpreet Kaur, Saumya Mehta and Aditi Wasil gave demonstration on composite lessons in the streams of commerce, economics, science, computer, social science, languages and mathematics. These demonstrations were beneficial for the BEd students. They observed the alumni members had tried to grasp the techniques of teaching. Alumni members interacted with the student-teachers regarding the structure and system of the BEd programme. Principal Dr Arjinder Singh, teacher-educator in-charge Dr Randeep Randhawa and faculty members appreciated the alumni members
KMV students get positions in results
Sonal Gupta and Priyanka of BCom (P) VI semester students of KMV were jointly placed at the 18th rank in GNDU merit list. They both scored (1695/2150) marks. Amninder and Kajal Verma along with Anureet bagged the distinction by scoring 1617/2150 marks, 1625/2150 and 1616/2150 marks respectively. Principal Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated all those students who had performed brilliantly at the academic front. She also congratulated the parents for their consistent support.
LPU to provide scholarships
Lovely Professional University will provide 100 per cent scholarship to 21 students affected with spinal cord injuries (SCI) from this session. The admitted students were invited on the campus and awarded scholarships by ACP of Jalandhar Division Deepika Singh and LPU Senior Dean Lovi Raj Gupta. ACP Deepika Singh addressed the affected students as real heroes and great source of inspiration for others. On this occasion president of the association of affected persons Parvinder Sonu and vice president Davinder Singh were also present. SCI affected students have been given a total fee waiver and a free hostel accommodation. Their spouses and children, too, have been allowed a 50 per cent scholarship at the LPU.
Special assembly
In order to welcome the students after the summer break, teachers of the State Public School, Jalandhar Cantonment conducted a special assembly inside the school premises. The teachers of the school sang Mool Mantra, Gayatri Mantra, took the pledge of loyalty and devotion to the nation, expressed thought of the day, read news headlines and sang National. — TNS
