Technical events mark Day 2 of TechNITi 2019

A three-day techno-managerial fest of North India, TechNITi ’19, is being organised at Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology. The fest began here on Friday. A number of technical and managerial events are being organised as a part of the fest.

Events such as ‘robowars’, ‘symposium on RRTSE-19’, ‘UAE drone competition’, ‘B-plan competition’, ‘Programming competitions’ and ‘Esthetique-smart textiles fashion show’ were organised during the fest. Students and faculty from over 10 colleges, including Beant College of Engineering, Punjab Engineering College, Lovely Professional University and Khalsa College, Amritsar, participated in in the fest.

The opening ceremony of the event was organised by Dr Sham Sunder Pattnaik , Director of the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh; Dr Pamita Awasthi from NIT, Hamirpur; and Prof Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director of NIT, Jalandhar. Dr SK Sinha, Chairman of TechNITi ’19, Dr Geeta Sikka and Dr Mamta Khosla, are coordinating of the event.

Dr Sinha said the three-day technical fest would provide students an opportunity to demonstrate their innovation and creativity. He talked about the significance of bringing out the most innovative minds and supporting them to focus on research and department besides the academic courses. Prof Lalit Kumar Awasthi laid emphasis on creative thinking, innovation and thinking out of the box. He said the institute had infrastructure, resources and proper funding to steer students towards the path of research and innovation so that they could come up with solutions for one of the most daunting problems faced nowadays. Chief Guest Dr Pattnaik motivated students to keep working for development of the nation as they were the one in whose hands the future of the nation lied. He emphasised taking care of the environment as it was the need of the hour.

The inaugural programme was taken forward through a presentation by the organising team of TechNITi ’19, representing the activities and objectives of various clubs and societies of the institute. Various clubs viz Institution Innovation Council-an initiative of MHRD, Innovation Club, Coding Club NITJ , Robotics Club NITJ, Entrepreneurship Cell, etc, conducted technical events throughout the year for bringing out the best in students through competitions.

An official website of the robotics club was launched by the director of the inistitute in the presence of faculty coordinators Dr KS Nagla and Dr Afzal Sikander.

Many technical events, star nights and comedy shows are lined up for the next two days of the event.
