Sanjeev Bhandari led the raid. Police personnel from the Police Division No. 1 and the No. 8 accompanied the raiding team.

The moment the raiding the two electronic shops, panic had spread in the entire market, which is known as a hub of electronic goods in the region.

Station House Officer, police division No.3, Kulwant Singh said the raiding team recovered six Samsung LED TVs from Ahluwalia Electronics and 10 from Ravindra Electronics.

“The team has sealed the LED TVs and the same would be produced in the court for further action,” the SHO said.

Baljit Singh Ahluwalia, owner of Ahluwalia Electronics, said, the raid was conducted on suspicion that duplicate LEDs were being sold, but he was not selling any duplicate Samsung LED TVs.

“We have a stock of a few LED TVs which some people bought from grey markets in foreign countries at low rates and we bought from them to further sell the same to get some commission. These LED TVs are not duplicate but it has only a tag of international warranty which put them under suspicion. It seems that someone has filed a fake complaint against us due to some vested interests,” he said.

However, owner of Ravindra Enterprises refused to talk to media despite repeated attempts.
