Jalandhar, March 7
Two workers sustained injuries in a clash between two groups of workers at the Jagatjit industries at Hamira today.
One of the injured workers was admitted to a private hospital in Jalandhar, while the other was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Subhanpur.
Some factory workers also fired in the air, yet no one was injured in the firing.
The injured workers were identified as Harjit, a resident of Peerpur, and Jaspal Singh Hamira.
Speaking to Jalandhar Tribune, Jatinder Singh, SHO, Subhanpur, said a minor clash took place between two groups of factory workers yesterday evening. A member from one of the groups was slapped by the other group members that possibly resulted in a tussle.
With a view to seeking revenge the worker, who was slapped, along with some outsiders attacked the opposite group this morning. The two workers who sustained injuries are said to be out of danger now, said the SHO.
He said the outsiders also opened fire while they were escaping from factory to prevent the security guards from catching them, yet no one was hurt due to the firing.
“Some of the accused were identified and the police have started searching for them. We will manage to catch them by tomorrow hopefully,” said the SHO.
The FIR has been registered under Sections 323-324, 307-336, 148-49 and 25-27-54-59.
