Jalandhar, May 3

A Veer Nari (wife of a martyr soldier) Meet was organised by the Vajra Corps at Jalandhar Cantonment today to facilitate an interaction with the Veer Naris of the district and ensure a speedy resolution of their problems.  The event was conducted under the aegis of the Vajra Corps Artillery Brigade.

Remembering the supreme sacrifice made by the soldiers who laid down their life defending the motherland, the Vajra Corps made a sincere endeavour to reach out to the families of the martyred soldiers and extend a helping hand.  The meet was one in a series of interactions held frequently under the aegis of Vajra Corps.

Sixty Veer Naris from Jalandhar district attended the meet. Manpreet Kaur, chairperson, Family Welfare Organisation, Vajra Corps Artillery Brigade, personally interacted with each of them to know about their well-being.

Veer Naris were updated by the officers’ wives who also attended the meet about welfare schemes undertaken by the Army and Punjab Government for them.  Lieutenant Colonel (retd) HP Singh, District Defence Sainik Welfare Board, gave a guest lecture, educating the audience regarding the schemes being undertaken by the state and the Central Government for the welfare of the Veer Naris.
