Varinder K Sharma to be Jalandhar DC

Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mansa, will be the new Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar. He has replaced KK Yadav.
In the transfers that took place across the state with the Congress leadership being sworn in today, Jalandhar district has also witnessed a major reshuffle, with various IAS and IPS officers having been transferred to and from the district. Eleven IPS/PPS postings in the state out of a list of 41 involve Jalandhar.
KK Yadav who was the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar has been made Director, Local Government, in place of Jaikishan Singh, an IAS officer.
Kapurthala district has also got a new DC. Mohammed Tayyab, Special Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, and in addition, Special Secretary, Forests and Wildlife, has been made DC Kapurthala in place of Gurlovleen Singh Sidhu.
Of the 41 IPS officials who have been transferred across the state as many as 12 are from Jalandhar and Kapurthala.
Of these, 11 have been transferred to or from Jalandhar (a Kapurthala official has also been transferred to Jalandhar). Four officials have been posted out of the district, two have been posted within the district and five have been posted to the district from elsewhere.
While from Kapurthala, Alka Meena, SSP, Kapurthala, has been posted as SSP, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ravinderpal Singh, SP/Hqrs, Kapurthala, has been posted as ADCP II, Jalandhar.
Among the four officials who are being transferred out of the district include SSP Jalandhar (rural), DCP Jalandhar, AIG CI Jalandhar, ADCP II, Jalandhar.
These include Sukhmeet Singh SSP Jalandhar (rural) – posted as AIG SSOC Amritsar; Sandeep Kumar Sharma DCP Jalandhar has been made SSP Kapurthala; Amarjit Singh Bajwa, AIG CI Jalandhar has been posted as DCO Amritsar; Jagmohan Singh ADCP II Jalandhar has been posted as DCP (investigation) Amritsar.
Two of the officials are also being posted within Jalandhar.
Gurmit Singh SSP VB Jalandhar has been posted as DCP (investigation) Jalandhar and Gurtejinder Singh DCP (investigation) Jalandhar has been posted as Commandant-cum-Deputy Director (General) MRS PPA Phillaur.
Of those coming posted to the district from elsewhere include Surinder Singh SSP Khanna who has been posted as SSP VB Jalandhar; Gurpreet Singh Bhullar SSP Fatehgarh Sahib has been made SSP Jalandhar (Rural); Opinderjit Singh Guman SSP Ludhiana (rural) has been made AIG C Jalandhar; Navjot Singh AIG (Int.) STF Punjab has been posted as DCP Jalandhar.
As mentioned earlier, Ravinderpal Singh SP/Hqrs Kapurthala has also been posted as ADCP II Jalandhar.
Among IAS postings elsewhere in Doaba, Vipul Ujwal IAS Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar has been made DeputyCommissioner Hoshiarpur in place of Anindita Mitra. Sonali Giri, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Amritsar and in addition Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Amritsar has been made Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in place of Vipul Ujwal.
