A video showing a nihang jatha damaging a PRTC Kapurthala depot bus by swords and sharp weapons went viral this evening.

The video shot by a car-borne person coming from the opposite side showed nihangs arguing with the bus driver and then smashing front windows, driver seat window and the body of the bus. The incident reportedly happened after the bus allegedly accidentally hit one of the horses of the jatha. The nihangs blocked his way as they indulged in vandalism. The video did not clearly show as to whether there were passengers in it but the moment the bus driver got a chance to escape, he managed to move ahead in the vehicle.

SSP Kapurthala Satinder Singh said the matter had not been reported to the police. Roadways officials at the Kapurthala depot said the incident occurred on Friday last but they chose not to report it.
