3 held for eve-teasing after video goes viral

Three youths were arrested for harassing a Class XI girl who was on a scooty in the Bhaderwah area of Doda district.

The action was taken after a video went viral on social networking sites showing three youths stopping their bike on a roadside and one of them attempting to stop her by coming in front of her in Bhaderwah town. The clip shows the girl falling down after losing control over the vehicle.

Taking cognisance of the video and a complaint by the girl’s family, the police on Friday lodged an FIR against the three youths at Bhaderwah police station after arresting them.

“The family of the girl has filed a complaint against the three youths for eve-teasing. We have taken strong action by arresting the three youths,” Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammed Shabir Choudhary said.
