Amarnath yatra: Rates for services fixed

In connection with the ensuing Amaranth yatra, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari convened a meeting of officials at Sonamarg to fix rates of various services during the pilgrimage.
An official statement said the rates for dandies (carriers), from Baltal to the holy cave and back, had been fixed at Rs 14,000. The rate for a pack pony (with 60 kg load) on the same route had been fixed at Rs 3,900.
For locations, such as Manigam, Baltal, and holy cave/Panjtarni, Rs 330, 500, and 700 have been fixed, respectively, for encampment with facility of floor accommodation with quilt mattress, blanket and pillow or sleeping bag with one blanket and pillow per head per night. The rates of Rs 450, 650 and 950 have been fixed, respectively, for encampment with facility of accommodation with cotton quilt mattress, blanket and pillow or sleeping bag with one blanket and pillow per head per night.
Meanwhile, a draw of lots for allotment of boarding tents and shop tents on the Pahalgam axis will be held at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal, Anantnag on May 14. — TNS
