The birth anniversary of Guru Hargobind Sahib was celebrated by the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) at Gurdwara Chhati Patshahi, Talab Tillo, Jammu, on Thursday.

A large number of people participated in the religious event. Prominent Sikh preachers Bhai Sarabjit Singh Dhotian and Bhai Parampal Singh Sabra threw light on the life history and teachings of the great guru.

Preachers elaborated on the concept of Miri-Piri and said Guru Hargobind Sahib adopted two swords, one representing temporal (Miri) power and other spiritual power (Piri) and emphasised a great deal on physical and military training of the Sikhs.

Jathedar Mohinder Singh, SAD president, and DGPC, Jammu, member, presented resolutions concerning various burning demands of the Sikhs. TNS
