The International Inner-wheel Club has decided to make Jammu plastic free. The club has announced to take the initiative during the inaugural session of the north zone meeting held here on Saturday evening. The organisation is working on the objective of “friendship and service” and under this initiative, various projects have been launched.
“We have launched a comprehensive project this year. Under this project, we will distribute 27 lakhs cotton bags with a target of making our country plastic free”, Preeti Khajuria told mediapersons. “We will focus on Jammu and make it plastic free”, she said.
The meeting was organised under the stewardship of Anita Bhalla and convenor Surjit Kour and Archana Behl. Pooja Malhotra, president of the Jammu wing of club, welcomed all participants and assured that they would work for the empowerment of womenfolk across the state. She highlighted various steps taken by the Jammu wing, especially in rural areas.
