A picture of a CRPF man offering prayers on the roadside and another security man guarding him has created a buzz on the social media.
The picture clicked by Lateef Ali, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Lar police station in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, went viral within hours of being posted on the social media.
Hundreds of people have retweeted the picture with comments praising the security forces operating in difficult circumstances in the Kashmir valley.
“I took the picture while I was having lunch in my office. I sent the picture to my SSP on our WhatsApp group. Later, I saw that the picture had gone viral,” said the SHO, Lateef Ali. The picture was clicked when Constable Nazir Ahmad Rather of the 118 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was offering afternoon prayers at Lar in Ganderbal.
His colleague Sushil Kumar was standing guard while Rather was offering nimaz. Both security men are deployed on the Amarnath yatra duty. “I checked with my Commandant and he confirmed that both of them are from the 118 Battalion. It is another example of the camaraderie between our men on the ground,” said Ravideep Sahi, Inspector General of the CRPF, Srinagar sector.
The battalion has been deployed to secure the highway for the Amarnath yatra pilgrims. The picture has been retweeted by hundreds of people, including celebrities, politicians and Indian Police Services officers.
