Development of religious places for the promotion of pilgrim tourism in the state is the utmost priority of the government.
This was stated by Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh during the inauguration of a sunshade at an existing path of Bawe Wali Mata Temple constructed at a cost of Rs 28.50 lakh by the Jammu Development Authority.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government was taking requisite steps to improve facilities at prominent places of religious and tourist importance and focus was being laid on optimally tapping the tourism potential of the areas.
He said the city of temples was a major pilgrim tourist destination and requisite initiatives would be taken to enhance amenities for the pilgrims to make their stay comfortable.
He asked the Jammu Development Authority to ensure time-bound completion of the ongoing development works for the betterment of people. He also called for regular monitoring of the projects to meet quality norms and timelines.
