Roodad-e-Qoum, the first Gojri newspaper, was released at a function organised by literary organisation Anjuman Gojri Zuban-O-Adab Daramsall, Kalakote, Rajouri, during a function at the JK Academy of Art, Culture and Languages here on Thursday.
The event was presided over by Iqbal Azeem Choudhary, veteran Gojri writer, thinker and poet, while Gulam Abbas Choudhary, Deputy Director, PIB, Srinagar, was the chief guest.
Iqbal Azem Choudhary praised the editorial board of Rodaad-e-Qoum for their efforts in making the programme a success. He highlighted the contributions of late Sarwari Kasana and Ghulam Rasool Asghar, who gave a voice to the Gujjar and Bakerwal communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Gulam Abbas Choudhary said journalism was a pious profession and should be fair in nature. Highlighting the importance of profession, he said the editorial board must work according to the principles of journalism, so that aims and objectives of the newspaper could be achieved.
