In a strange turn of events, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued an admit card in the name of a donkey for the written exams for the post of naib tehsildar scheduled for April 29.

It has issued the admit card in the name of ‘Kachur Khar’ (brown donkey in Kashmiri). The admit card mentions the date of birth as January 1, 1990. In a similar case in 2015, the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination faced severe criticism after it issued an admit card for a cow with the picture of the animal.

When asked about the case, JKSSB Chairman Simrandeep Singh said the admit card was computer-generated and the department was not at fault.

“It is generated by a computer. Some people play pranks for entertainment,” Simrandeep Singh said.

“The admit card is scrutinised when the person comes to appear for the exam,” the official said.
