Srinagar, September 1
As the first batch of pilgrims is scheduled to return from Saudi Arabia on September 7 after performing Haj, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a high-level meeting to review the arrangements being made for providing the required facilities to Hajjis.
An official statement said the meeting was informed that 8,050 pilgrims from the Valley had performed Haj this year. It said the return Haj flights from Saudi Arabia to Srinagar would operate from September 7 to September 15. Two daily flights would operate from Saudi Arabia to Srinagar at 4:15 pm and 5:35 pm and each flight would carry 420 pilgrims.
Khan directed the officers concerned to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Haj House, medical facilities, fire and emergency services and sanitation in and around complex.
Khan said the attendants of Hajjis would be issued multi-coloured passes for entering the airport. One vehicle per Hajji will be allowed to enter the airport premises from Hyderpora, and only one relative can accompany the pilgrim at departure point.
