Union Minister of State, Railways, Rajen Gohain on Tuesday flagged off the Sealdah-Jammu Tawi weekly ‘Humsafar Superfast Express’ train from the Jammu railway station.
The train will travel between Sealdah in West Bengal and Jammu Tawi on a weekly basis.
After its formal inauguration, the train departed from Jammu Tawi at 12.30 pm and is expected to reach Sealdah at 11.45 pm on Wednesday. The train will depart from Sealdah on July 9, and the regular run from Jammu Tawi will commence from July 11.
However, in its regular run, the train will depart from Sealdah every Monday at 1.10 pm and will reach the Jammu Tawi station on the second day (Tuesday) at 11.30 pm. From Jammu Tawi, it will depart every Wednesday at 7.25 am and will reach Sealdah at 5.45 pm on Thursday.
The train will halt at 11 stations — Ludhiana, Ambala Cantonment, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Varanasi, Mughalsarai, Gaya, Dhanbad and Asansol.
The Humsafar Superfast Express has 16 three-tier AC coaches, an AC hot buffet car, two luggage brakes and a generator car.
