Mirwaiz to shed light on Dastgeer Sahab''s life

Srinagar: As the annual Urs celebrations of Sufi saint Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani is underway, Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is also the patron of Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema, will address the devotes at the Dastgeer Sahab shrine here on Thursday. In a statement on Tuesday, the Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema said Mirwaiz would address the faithful on the eve of the annual Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani at the shrine in Khanyar on December 28.

"Mirwaiz will deliver a sermon from the Zuhr to Asr prayers and shed light on the life and religious contributions of the saint, popularly known as Dastgeer Sahab," the statement said. tns
