MK Sinha joins as Jammu IGP

MK Sinha, an IPS officer of the 1996 batch of J&K cadre, took over the charge as the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu zone, on Thursday. He took over the charge from the outgoing IGP, SD Singh.
Prior to his posting as IGP, Jammu Zone, Sinha served in the police department in various capacities as SDPO, Samba; SSP (Border), Jammu; SSP, Rajouri; SSP (Vigilance), Jammu; SSP, Kathua; Additional Inspector General (Telecom and Information), Police Headquarters; and thereafter proceeded on deputation to the Government of India, where he worked in the cabinet secretariat.
On his return, he worked as DIG, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range; DIG, Rajouri-Poonch range; and then again proceeded on deputation to the CBI, New Delhi, where he was posted as joint director, anti-corruption zone. He also did National Defence College course where he bagged the gold medal for best thesis.
A detailed briefing was given by the outgoing IGP to his successor on emerging challenges on the account of crime, militancy, law and order of the entire Jammu province.
Besides, an introductory meeting was also held with the officers and officials of the Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu.
