Pakistan flags hoisted in Srinagar
Srinagar, May 16
On a day when the “Youth For Nation” organisation had planned to hoist the Indian flag at Lal Chowk, several Pakistani flags appeared in Srinagar today.
Eyewitnesses said unknown persons hoisted Pakistan flags at Hariparbat fort, Soura 90 feet, Gojwara and various localities this morning. The flags were seen hoisted on electric poles and trees at various places. The flags were, however, removed by the police.
The police said they were investigating who hoisted these flags. “Though we are investigating, but initial information is that flags were hoisted by Dukhtaran-e-Millat activists,” a police officer said. The Pakistan flags were hoisted, even as the police and CRPF were put on an alert around Lal Chowk where some youth organisations had planned to hoist Indian flag on Ghanta Ghar (clock tower). — TNS
