As the J&K State Board of School Education’s secondary and higher secondary annual examination of the summer zone began amid tense situation along the border, efforts have been intensified to identify alternative examination centres in the border districts.
After Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu districts, a total of 15 sensitive examination centres set up in government schools near the International Border (IB) in Samba district are likely to be shifted to other places in case of emergency.
Samba Chief Education Officer Rampal Bal said, “we have identified alternative centres to conduct the exam in case of any emergency. At present, all educational institutes in the district, including those along the IB, are functioning.”
If the need arises, the centre at Government High School (GHS), Koulpur, and GHS, Keso, will be shifted to Arvind Ghosh Higher Secondary School (HSS). Similarly, the exam centre at GHSS, Nandpur, will be moved to HSS, Ajanta; the centre at GHSS, Ramgarh, to Jyoti Public HSS, Vijaypur; and Neta Ji High School, Vijapur, and GHS, Ramgarh, to Vaid HSS, Vijaypur.
In the Samba zone , alternative educational institutes have been identified to hold exams in case of emergency.
The examination centre set up at GHS Mawa will be shifted to Kristu Jyoti Convent School, Samba; GHS Bainglar, centre to Shishu Niketan HSS, Samba. The exam centres set up at GHSS, Rajpura, for exam of ClassX, XI and XII will be shifted to Vinod Vidya Mandir, Ghagwal, and Modern Educational Institute, Ghagwal.
