‘Shastra Pujan’ performed

On ‘Vijaya Dashami’ various organisations and communities performed ‘Shastra Puja’ in Jammu. Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha, J&K, celebrated the day with special prayers at Purani Mandi. Many people had brought their licensed guns to perform the religious ritual.

Sabha president Naryan Singh said, “Dasehra reminds us of the victory of good over evil and it is important to remember that people should follow the right path. Weapons are worshipped and cleaned to send a message that it should not be misused and used for protection of the weak”.

Former MLA-Jammu East Rajesh Gupta also attended the function. Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal also organised a function to mark the day and held special prayers. Dal leader Rakesh Kumar spoke about the need to work for the unity of India. — TNS
