Shehla invites youth to join Faesal’s party
Srinagar, March 17
Student leader and activist Shehla Rashid Shora asked the youth and women to join the Shah Faesal-led Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Movement, which was launched here on Sunday.
“We launched a movement (at Jawaharlal Nehru University) and gave a befitting reply to expose (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi. (Now) we have come here to launch a movement for peace and prosperity.... Mothers and daughters should come forward. This party is yours and women have suffered the most in the conflict. I also want to invite students to come forward. We want to empower the youth. Ours is not a party but a movement,” Shehla said at the launch ceremony of the party.
She said all Peoples’ Movement members had sacrificed a lot and had entered politics for development works. “I am a PhD scholar and Faesal saheb was having an honourable (IAS) post...what was the need to enter politics and start a movement? We will work for development but will fight for our rights with dignity,” Shehla said. — TNS
