The Sikh Progressive Front along with various other organisations has demanded handing over the management of Gurdwara Pathar Sahib, Leh, to the Sikhs of the state.

Addressing a press conference, Balvinder Singh, president, Sikh Progressive Front, said a trust in the name of Gurudwara Pathar Sahib (Leh) Development Trust has been formed which will pursue and facilitate the matter with the state and Central governments so that the Sikh community could maintain the gurdwara.

“The trust has already taken up the matter with Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh through Manjinder Singh Sirsa, BJP MLA from Delhi and president, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee,” he said.

The trust members said the gurdwara was a sacred place for the Sikh community as well as for the residents of Leh. At the moment, the gurdwara is being maintained by the Army.
