Jammu, August 13

As part of preparations for the Independence Day celebrations, Leh and Kargil districts today witnessed full dress rehearsal with massive participation of students, officials and locals.

In Leh, the full dress rehearsal was held at Polo Ground where Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya unfurled the Tricolour. A march-past was presented by various contingents and cultural programmes were also held.

Officers from the civil administration besides locals were also present on the occasion.

At Kargil, the full dress rehearsal was held at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Bemathang, with Additional Deputy Commissioner Sonam Chosjor unfurling the Tricolour and taking the salute at the march-past presented by contingents of J&K Police, NCC, police band besides educational institutions.

Senior officers and officials from the civil and police administration were present on the occasion.

A cultural programme was presented by students of different schools and artistes of cultural academy.

Meanwhile, the full dress rehearsal was also held at Drass, Shakar Chiktan, Sankoo and Zanskar.
