Vigilance case against LAWDA, 3 city residents
Srinagar, September 27
The Vigilance Organisation, Kashmir, on Wednesday said it had filed a case against officials of the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) and three residents of Brain, Srinagar, for illegally constructing a two-storeyed building.
The Vigilance Organisation said it had received a complaint that Abdul Rahim Bhat and his sons Manzoor Ahmad Bhat and Altaf Ahmad Bhat of Brain Manzgam, Srinagar, had illegally constructed a two-storeyed building.
“In the first instance, the allegations were verified and during the verification it came to the fore that Abdul Rahim Bhat and his sons had constructed a two-storeyed building without seeking building permission from the LAWDA,” said the Vigilance Organisation.
The trio had also violated a court order restraining them from further construction in violation of the building laws. The court had directed the LAWDA authorities not to allow any illegal and unauthorised construction and take proper action against the offender for raising any illegal construction, the Vigilance Organisation said.
After the conclusion of an inquiry into the allegation, an FIR was registered. —TNS
