Jammu-Udaipur Garib Rath restored

The Northern Railways has restored the operation of limited-run 04971/04972 Jammu Tawi-Udaipur-Jammu Tawi Special Fare superfast Garib Rath train.

The suspended train made its first run from Jammu Tawi today, arriving here at 2.30 pm with a delay of 25 minutes. A new bi-weekly train has also been introduced between Jammu and Kanpur.

The train 04972 will run from April 7 to July 1, 2016, on every Thursday leaving Jammu Tawi at 9.30 am to reach Udaipur at 9.20 am the next day. In return direction, the train 04971 will run from April 8 to July 2, 2016, on every Friday leaving Udaipur at 11.15 am to reach Jammu Tawi at 1.40 pm the next day.

With 12 AC III-tier coaches, the train will have stoppages at Pathankot, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Dhuri, Jakhal, Hisar, Bhiwani, Rewari, Khairthal, Alwar, Bandikul, Dausa, Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Nasirabad, Bijainagar, Chanderiya, Mavli, Rana Pratap Nagar in both directions.

A new bi-weekly express train (14155/56) is being introduced between Jammu Tawi and Kanpur. The 14155 Kanpur- Jammu Tawi train will depart from Kanpur at 5.15 pm every Tuesday and Saturday to reach Jammu Tawi at 12.10 pm the next day. In return direction, the 14156 Jammu Tawi-Kanpur train will depart from Jammu Tawi at 5.30 pm every Wednesday and Sunday to reach Kanpur at 1.55 pm the next day.

Comprising one AC II-tier, two AC III-tier, seven sleeper class, six general class besides two luggage van coaches, it will stop at Etawah, Tundla, Aligarh, Khurja, Bulandsheher, Hapur, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt and Pathankot Cantt in both directions.

Meanwhile, several long-route trains continued with their erratic run as four trains were running late from two to six hours and some dozen odd express and passenger trains were delayed by 1-2 hours.
