Kidnapping bid foiled, kidnapper thrashed
Jalandhar, August 27
A kidnapping bid was foiled today by local residents after an unknown person attempted to kidnap a minor boy at Ghumara Mohalla here.
The residents nabbed the miscreants and thrashed the accused.
Vipul (11), son of Rajeshwar, was playing outside his house when a man passing by the house stopped and offered Rs 20 to the boy. After the miscreant gave money to the boy, he reportedly asked the boy to come along with him. When the boy, fearing some foul play, attempted to escape, the miscreants chased him and bit him on his face.
After the boy raised an alarm, residents gathered and nabbed the miscreant. They thrashed him badly and later the police were called and the accused was handed over to cops.
Sources said when the miscreant was being taken to the police station, the boy’s father refused to file a complaint due to which the police did not register any case.
Sources said the boy’s father, a native of Bihar and a labourer in a local factory, opted not to file a complaint, as his son was safe and he did not want to get into any legal proceedings. — TNS
