Patna, January 3
Former Bihar Health Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav today said his elder sister Misa Bharti will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Patlipura constituency even though the party is yet to come out with any official word on the candidature for the seat.
RJD MLA from Maner constituency and party chief spokesperson Bhai Virendra is also keen on contesting from the Patliputra seat.
Tej Pratap, will announcing that he would launch the campaign for Bharti from Maner, said: “Misa Bharti is my sister and I stand by her side. People cast their vote in the name of Lalu Prasad and they want Misa to contest. No one can do anything so she will contest the LS election of 2019 from Patliputra constituency.”
Patliputra is seen as a prestigious seat for RJD chief and jailed Lalu Prasad. The party failed to wrest the seat after Misa lost to BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav in 2014. — OC
