Sheetal
Pollywood actress Kavita Kaushik and Ronnit Biswas have been married for more than two years and their idea of marriage is living together to share joys, sorrows as well as their responsibilities. It is his simple and caring nature that attracted Kavita to fall for this guy-next-door and for Ronnit, seeing Kavita at a store in a red dress made him drool. They have made some very bold decisions together, including not bringing a child into this world, which is already a crowded place. Meet the couple, who does not mind indulging in adventure sports every now and then as they both love the adrenalin rush.
Of meeting & impressions
Kavita: He came to my house to help me with my laptop. I was initially apprehensive of this stranger coming to my house but my friend, who sent him, insisted, ‘don’t worry, Ronnit is a gem of guy’. Minutes later, I found that out myself.
Ronnit: The first time I saw her was at a store. She walked in, in a stunning red dress and I was left staring! I don’t even think she noticed me then. Post that, we met through some common people. It was purely platonic to start with. She fed me such amazing food. I was telling myself, she is stunning and boy, she’s an awesome chef!
And the first date
Kavita: There wasn’t any rollicking romance but, of course, our bond grew stronger. Ours was not generic story of falling in love. A lot of tragic and life-changing events happened in our lives making us realise that we loved each other. He was the simple guy who held my hand against all odds.
Ronnit: It was not a date, rather a month, July 2016.
Getting hitched
Kavita: It was very organic. We wanted to live together. To please our family, we do a lot of things. So, it was simple yet beautiful ceremony we had at Triyugi Narayan temple in the Himalayas where Shiv and Parvati had their wedding. It was a magical day for us. I wore my mother’s old saree and paternal jewellery.
Ronnit: We were sure that we wanted to get married once we started seeing each other. The only question was when? We wanted to live together and Kavita’s family is conservative so we just preponed it. On 7th January, 2017, she asked me ‘you want to get married’, and I said “Chal karte hain”. We were married on the 27th day of January.
Living together
Kavita: You get to divide your joy, sorrow as well as responsibilities with your partner.
Ronnit: Well, the best part is that we are best friends. I’m the male version of Kavita and she is a female version of me. We love doing everything together.
Changes here and there
Kavita: For me, all the changes were exactly that I had expected and something that I had wanted.
Ronnit: Very minor changes of just being accommodating and understanding the other person. Everything else flows organically.
If I could change
Kavita: He should do yoga with me. He is all about gym, weights and protein.
Ronnit: Nothing! She’s perfect just the way she is.
Annoying yet loving
Kavita: He throws his clothes on the floor.
Ronnit: She doesn’t shut the bathroom door after using it.
Wow factor
Kavita: His ability to surprise me. I made him do adventure sports like sky diving, river rafting and lately strenuous trekking in Ladakh or Spiti, which I thought he will not be able to complete, but he proved me wrong.
Ronnit: The kind of person she is and how she has made it in this industry by herself. Plus, as I said earlier she’s a brilliant cook and I could go on and on...
