With new talents joining in, Bollywood is currently going through some refreshing changes. And audience already game for small-budget and content-driven films, even filmmakers are casting fresh pairs. With Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte coming together for the first time in Padman, 2018 has many more fresh on-screen pairs lined up.
Varun and Mrs Virat!
Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma – Another fresh pair that we get to see in the upcoming year is that of Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma. The duo will be seen spreading the message of Make In India with the movie titled, Sui Dhaaga- Made in India. Directed by Sharat Katariya and written by Maneesh Sharma, the movie will release on 2nd October 2018.
An unlikely pair
Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan – Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan will soon be seen together in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath. Sushant had made his big-screen debut in Abhishek’s Kai Po Che, and is reuniting with him for the second time. On the other side, Sara, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, is all set to make her debut with the film.
Star kids come together
Ishaan Khattar and Jhanvi Kapoor - Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar and Sridevi’s daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor will be sharing screen space in a remake of the super hit Marathi movie Sairaat, which is directed by Karan Johar. Titled as Dhadak, the film is to be helmed by Badrinath Ki Dulhania director Shashank Khaitan.
Of crackling chemistry
Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt – Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh impressed one and all with their crackling chemistry in a TV commercial. The two have been paired for the big screen for the first time in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The film revolves around the lives of Mumbai-based rappers Divine and Naezy. Reports also suggest that the two actors may come together for Rohit Shetty’s Simmba too.
Because Diljit will be Diljit
Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon – Diljit Dosanjh will be paired opposite Kriti Sanon for the first time in director Dinesh Vijan’s next. Kriti has earlier worked with Dinesh in Raabta. Titled Arjun Patiala, reports suggest that Kriti will play the role of a journalist while Diljit will be a quirky, small-town guy. It will be shot in Punjab and will go on floors from February 2018.
A cast to look forward to
Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt - Vicky Kaushal has proved his acting with critically acclaimed movies like Masaan and Raman Raghav 2.0. Now, the actor will be seen opposite Alia Bhatt for the first time in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi where Vicky will be playing an army officer, while Alia will be playing a Kashmiri girl. The film is based on the book Calling Sehmat, which is a story of a Kashmiri girl married to an army officer and is set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
