Chumbak heads to Melbourne

Marathi movie Chumbak, which is backed by Akshay Kumar, is all set to be showcased at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), which is scheduled to take place from August 10 to 22.

Chumbak, which will have a special screening at IFFM, has been directed by Sandeep Modi. Having renowned lyricist Swanand Kirkire in the lead role, Chumbak is the story of friendship between a 15-year-old waiter, Baalu, and a 45-year-old mentally ailing man Prasanna.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
