‘Filmmaking requires patience and courage’
Nakkash, which released recently, has been widely appreciated by film critics. The film was eagerly anticipated by content based cinema lovers and features Inaamul Haq from Airlift and Jolly LLB, Sharib Hashmi from Filmistaan and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Kumud Mishra from Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Incidentally, the producer of the film Ashutosh Sharma is from Panchkula. He happened to be in Ludhiana recently on a personal visit.
Sharing his love for cinema, Ashutosh stresses on the humanity of the characters that has been brought out in the film.
“In today’s day and age, we see that a lot of people have a lot of negative ideas about the religious beliefs of others. Nakkash tries to unravel all this and tries to tell us that before being identified as Hindus or Muslims, we should be identified as Indians and we must live peacefully with each other.” Claiming that he decided to produce the film as soon as the film’s director, Zaigham Imam narrated the script, Ashutosh says that the appreciation showered by critics proves that content based cinema is vastly impactful today, too.
Recognising the need for more youngsters to join the film industry, Ashutosh also says that such youngsters bring with them a diversity of ideas. This leads to better content being dished out for viewers, and greater chances for meaningful dialogue to be started. “Nothing is impossible. Those starting out in the industry must stay focused and determined, and not give up on their hard work. Be it acting, or producing a film, or any other role in the production of a film, all of these require patience and courage. Be patient and work hard, and you will definitely reap the benefits one day,” he adds.
