Anger is a decoction of many vices; namely ego, greed, sex, mania, jealousy, etc. It’s a way to express one’s annoyance, irritation, vexation, displeasure, resentment, due to some provocation or else. For every minute you remain angry, you give up 60 seconds of peace of mind. People will ignore you, if you are always angry or complaining.

According to the Bhagwat Gita, “Anger hurts only oneself”. ‘You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger,’ says Buddha.

Face the consequences

Although anger can be positive at times, often it leads to harmful consequences like road rage, domestic violence, child abuse, physical assault, and even murder. Consequently it can cost you your health. Expression of anger may make you feel good, but it can lead to guilt, shame, embarrassment and remorse. Later one realises that one’s self esteem has been damaged as his response was overblown, misdirected and also unwarranted.
