While some swallow the eccentricities of life with a pinch of salt, others savour its flavours with time and patience. So, when Kashmira Irani talks about her return to television after a hiatus of seven years with Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s show, Manmarzian, she says that it was not a calculated decision, but instinct that propelled her reasons for doing the show.

“I made a debut on television with Amber Dhara over seven years ago, which was produced by Swastik Pictures. So, when I was told that Manmarzian has been produced under the same production banner, I had a gut feeling that prompted me to take this show up… and I did,” begins Kashmira, who is also quite happy with her role on the show.

Kashmira, who earlier essayed the role of Amber in Amber Dhara, a story about two conjoined twin sisters, shares that her playing the role of Samaira in Manmarzian was quite challenging, yet exciting. “Samaira is quite glamorous, modern, and chic. But at the same time, her character has many layers because she is traditional and rooted at the same time,” she says. While talking about the storyline of the show, Kashmira shares that the show is essentially a story about two women who are opposite, but they have the same core nature. “It’s a very interesting story about two friends, who are poles apart, yet they have similar souls, so it’s quite a nice story,” she says.

Also, as we ask her the reason for her absence from television for so long, Kashmira replies, “When I do something, I put all my energy into it, so I was really busy studying acting in New York.
