Gatecrashing into Antilla!
After functions spread over three days, the lavish affair of Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s engagement concluded with a grand party on Saturday. Marking their presence were who’s who from Bollywood. From Aamir Khan to SRK to Ranbir Kapoor, the entire industry seemed to be present at the event. Though the wedding date of Akash and Shloka is yet to be announced officially, rumours are rife that the two will tie the knot in December this year. Meanwhile, here are the highlights from Saturday’s party:
Twinning in florals – The Ambani family, minus Mukesh Ambani, came out and posed for the shutterbugs before the functions could start. While the groom-to-be Akash chose a royal sherwani in the shade of maroon, his younger brother, Anant opted for a deep grey sherwani. Interestingly, all the ladies of the family were twinning in floral ensembles. Shloka was seen in a heavily embellished lehenga in pink and grey hues by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Nita and Isha Ambani too opted for the same designer and donned outfits of similar shades, again with pink floral embroidery.
The décor – The decor was a visual treat. The job was assigned to California-based floral designer Karen Tran. White flowers and shimmering crystals were hung from the roof making the room sparkle as the light bounced off in all directions. To lend the Indian touch, strings of orange flowers were also used. The sides of the hallway were decorated with soft pink lights facing upwards giving a surreal shade to the white flowers. The overall view of the venue was magical just like a fairy tale.
Aryan Khan’s first public event – Making his appearance at a social gathering for the first time was Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri’s eldest son, Aryan Khan. He arrived along with his mom and posed for the paparazzi for the first time. Looking dapper in a blue suit, Aryan reminded us for the young SRK.
All that glitters is gold –Although golden dominated the evening, there were a few celebs who opted for silver. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rekha and Kiron Rao wore golden saris and Alia Bhatt looked stunning in a golden lehenga. Rani Mukerji too chose a golden anarkali dress. Meanwhile Gauri Khan, Disha Patani, Simi Garewal, Rhea Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Kajol preferred white and silver.
