Three years and nine films later, Gippy Grewal, the front man of Pollywood film industry is back with the second instalment of Ardaas.

Gippy took upon himself to make a movie that was his dream project. For its second instalment, he took over  the whole process from its script writing to song writing,  acting to direction and from producing the film to handling the post production details.

He says, “I remember there were many who discouraged me when I thought of this concept which was different from the mainstream and on  top of it, very serious. But, this is not true anymore. Sometimes numbers don’t matter.”

This thought resonated well in his long time friend Gurpreet Ghuggi, comedian who never fails to surprise us with his comic timing, “I remember when he was convincing me while sitting on a balcony to portray the character of Master Gurmukh Singh in Ardaas, though I couldn’t express my feelings at that moment but now I can openly say that I felt like jumping off the balcony for I couldn’t say no as I am his friend and was unable to see myself doing a serious role. But all being said and done, I feel proud of having done something that I thought I was incapable of all thanks to Gippy.”

Sunidhi Chauhan, renowned singer of Bollywood graced the event of the music launch of movie Ardaas Karaan. She has sung two songs in the movie, one of which is the title track. The song Satgur Pyare, which left everybody awestruck was not only melodious but brought out all the emotions that Gippy intends to reflect through his movie. Sunidhi says, “I always look forward to work with Punjabi music industry as they bring newness to the table. When I was singing the song Satgur Pyare, these very two words made me feel as if  god was blessing me. I only told this to Jatinder Shah ji who is the force behind the music of this movie.”

Gippy Grewal further adds, “Jatinder is a sensitive man and my childhood friend and a schoolmate. Music will not feel like an add-on in the movie or something that audience can skip. Even the background music is part of the screenplay and will reflect the emotions felt by artists.”

This is the first time Gippy will be working with Yograj Singh, “Only Yograj ji fits into the description of the person praying in front of Nishan Sahib.” Gippy’s son Gurfateh Singh Grewal will also be making his debut with the film.
