Good news for Fukrey fans

Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment, who has produced blockbuster films like Raees, Gold, Don, Baar Baar Dekho, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and more, is currently running high on success after his last film Gully Boy that starred Ranveer Singh and was helmed by Zoya Akhtar. Now, in a recent media interaction, Ritesh confirmed that a sequel of the superhot Fukrey franchise is currently in making.

Sharing details, Ritesh said, “There has been so much love for the franchise especially for the characters of Chucha and Hunny, so we need to approach it with a lot of responsibility.” 

He further said that he and his production house’s co-producer Farhan Akhtar are working on the script and are discussing the story in depth. He added, “Even when Farhan is directing, he keeps an open mind in the discussion. This applies to everyone here including Zoya and Reema. It’s a collaborative effort.” Both the films Fukrey and Fukrey Returns starred Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat and Manjot Singh essaying the lead roles and released in 2013 and 2017 respectively.
