Health is wealth

From regular morning and evening walks to working out at night, doctors always find a way to stay healthy, despite their hectic schedules. “I do yoga stretches, but I miss out a day or two during the week,” says dental expert Neelam Shourie. Having greater awareness about the importance of good health, doctors still are prone to problems like back-aches and stiffness due to hectic schedules.
“Like others, we also consult doctors who have greater specialisation. However, we deal with minor personal or family’s health problems through self-diagnosis and general health advice,” shares Rajat Gupta, a renowned diabetes specialist. As for dermatologist Vikas Sharma, he is extra-careful not to catch any disease that disrupts his routine. “I live with my parents and they are very sonscious about their fitness levels,” says Vikas. A psychiatrist at Max Hospital, Chandigarh, Sachin Kaushik shares that due to his capabilities with emotional and mental issues, he has been able to keep problems at bay for his family and friends. “It is a very satisfying feeling,” he says. Entrusted with the task of keeping many fit, doctors are more satisfied with each patient they cure. “I feel like a healer, I love being a doctor,” adds Shourie.
