What is your vision for the short features?

The three short features are full of suspense, excitement, surprise, anticipation and anxiety. They bring out diverse traits in people around us. My vision for the features is to offer the viewers refreshing content.

What is your inspiration behind creating content for TV?

When Star Plus approached me with the idea of making short features for the channel, I was excited because I make films for the new-age audience. So, I decided to partner with the channel and brainstorm on ideas that would be drastically different for audiences. The result is my three short features.

What is Teen Pehliyan all about?

It is a combination of three short features; Mirchi Malini, Copy and Goodluck. Starring Paoli Dam and Akshay Oberoi, Mirchi Malini narrates the story of the protagonist with unique senses. Copy, featuring Surveen Chawla and Vikrant Massey, portrays the story of Sid, a young boy who hires a robot for replicating himself. Goodluck, starring Tina Desai and Kunal Roy Kapoor, is the story of John, who sells a unique product called Goodluck.

How has your experience of working with all the actors been?

All the actors in my three short features have done tremendous work in their own genres and style. It was an interesting amalgamation of talent to work with. I am grateful to have such actors in my short features.

Are there any future projects lined up for TV?

As of now we are hoping for the success of this offering, since it has been my dream project. But we surely look forward to doing more projects with the channel and hope to create wonders together.

How do you rate yourself as a filmmaker?

I believe in a good story and would be remembered as a filmmaker who tells good stories!

Do you like acting?

I did special appearances in films My Brother Nikhil and Everybody Says I’m Fine, but I am not interested in acting much.
