‘I have a name, I have a story’
As the Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar controversy continues, there are some actors who have shown their support for Tanushree .
Among others, Priyanka Chopra and Twinkle Khanna have posted messages on their social media in support of Tanushree. However, Tanushree seems unconvinced with their posts. Twinkle Khanna had tweeted, “A working environment without harassment and intimidation is a fundamental right and by speaking up this brave woman helps pave the way towards that very goal for all of us!”
To this Tanushree said, “Thank you, ma’am, for supporting me but your husband is about to or is even shooting the film with Nana Patekar. What about that?”
On the other side, Priyanka had quoted Farhan’s tweet and wrote, “The world needs to #BelieveSurviviors”. Reacting to this, Tanushree says, “I just want people to know that I am not going to be reduced to a survivor. I have a name, I have a story and I have this truth that I am trying to get out .”
No legal notice
Meanwhile, despite getting threats of legal notice from Patekar, the actress said that neither has she got any legal notice from the actor's lawyer nor is she afraid of him.
It’s a positive step Asha Bhosle on women coming out in open against injustice
Veteran singer Asha Bhosle says that she is glad to see that women are coming out in open to talk about their issues and fight against injustice.
Asha Bhosle was interacting with media at the launch of new iPhone XS and iPhone XS max along with Madhuri Dixit Nene on Friday in Mumbai.
When asked about her take on current scenario where women are standing up against injustice towards them in the society, she said, “It’s a positive step and women should express their issues and should fight for their justice otherwise people who are exploiting women will get an encouragement so it’s really good that women are coming out in the open to talk about issues.” She added that she pursued her singing career while taking care of her family. “Women are being exploited from many decades. Earlier, people used to have a perception that they should spend their entire life in kitchen and take care of their family and children. I think women should come out of that, the way I came out of it. I took care of my house, family and children but at the same time, I pursued my singing career,” said the veteran singer.—IANS
