After being launched as a co-singer in Mika Singh's song Saqiya, Akira has lent her voice for songs like Mallamal for Housefull 3 and Ishq Karle for Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd.

She has managed all this right in the first two years of her career as a singer. Living in Mumbai, this girl from Patiala came to Chandigarh to announce her next release, a single in Punjabi. Titled Dhamak, the song is written by Jaggi Jagowal, composed by Mr Wow and directed by Amrinder Goraya.

"We worked on this song for three months and finally the day has arrived when it will reach the music lovers. Being released by T-series, Dhamak is a peppy number that's sure to linger on in everyone's mind. It's my first time in Punjabi but it has given me so much confidence that I have already started working on the next with the same team," says a happy Akira.

This girl of 21 started learning music at the age of five and has participated in many reality singing shows that proved a building block for her entry in Bollywood. She says to stay in the industry and be recognised one has to keep doing shows and she has done almost 50 of them both in India and abroad. When it comes to her performance, the entire team is all praise. "I tried this song with many other singers before signing Akira. It was a pure coincidence when she called me to say she was looking for an opportunity closer home and I had this song ready.  She has brought life to the beautiful lyrics and is a very cooperative artiste," says Mr Wow.

The song, according to director Amrinder Goraya, is a result of hard work and is sure to impress the listeners. "I was working for Punjabi film Mitti when Mr Wow asked me to consider the song. I liked the content and beats so much that I took a break from my film and did this one. Be it the voice, the content, the melody or the video, I know people will love it."
