Is Netaji alive?
Ekta Kapoor’s online streaming service provider, ALT Balaji, just got a very interesting project in Bose Dead/Alive. Not only does it have a terrific premise for a web series, it also managed to cast one of the best actors in Bollywood – Rajkummar Rao. The actor is cast as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, as the web series is both his biopic as well as tries to solve the mystery behind his apparent death in a plane crash, just before India got Independence. So, is Netaji really dead?
The trailer of the web series is out, and it sure looks like a very intriguing affair. There are some really interesting scenes in the trailer, like that scene when Bose trolls the judge for only giving him six months imprisonment. Or, a scene where he beats a British man with his shoe. The series also shows his house arrest, his clash with Mahatma Gandhi and his escape to Afghanistan.
Bose Dead/Alive is creatively produced by Hansal Mehta and is directed by Pulkit. The show also stars Patralekhaa Paul who will reunite with her boyfriend Rajkummar Rao after CityLights.
