‘Kabir Singh’ trailer: Shahid Kapoor is as honest and raw as ''Arjun Reddy''

‘Kabir Singh' is the Hindi remake of Telugu hit film 'Arjun Reddy'. Shahid Kapoor will portray the rebellious doctor Kabir Rajveer Singh. 

Sandeep Vanga, who directed ‘Arjun Reddy’, is also helming ‘Kabir Singh’.

Kiara Advani will be seen playing Shahid’s love interest. 

The trailer gives us a glimpse into the life of an impeccable academic student Kabir, which is played by Shahid and how his life changes when the love of his life Kiara, is forced to marry someone else. 

Apart from the love between the lead actors, the trailer shows us the intoxicated lifestyle and anger issues that Shahid's character goes through in the film.

Talking to PTI about the film, Shahid had said: “The original was very raw, very honest. I don’t think there was anything in the film that was for effect. I just felt it said things as it is and was a brazen journey of a character who goes through an emotional arc which is extreme.”

“The honesty of the film connected with the audience. Otherwise, for a film like that, there would be a limited audience. But it was loved across the board. The idea is to do it all over again,” he added.

'Arjun Reddy', based in Hyderabad and Bangalore, where as 'Kabir Singh' is based in Delhi and Mumbai. 

The film which features Kiara as Shahid's love interest also stars Nikita Dutta, Soham Majumdar and Suresh Oberoi in supporting roles. The film is slated to release on June 21, 2019.
