Keep calm and love your mom!
Mothers are a gift to humankind and we have troubled them just as much as we have loved them, ever since we were kids. So, today it’s time to show how much our mothers mean to us. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, popular television actors talk to us about their mothers and the loving bond they share.
Of lessons learnt
Good returns: Rashami Desai
My mother is a teacher. I am proud of her and the way she brought me up. I was a shy child but, in school, I became active in cultural activities. I learned the value of discipline and it has always helped me. My mother taught me that hard work is the only investment that never fails!
Every day is Mother’s Day
Special treatment: Aniruddh Dave
I really don’t need Mother’s Day, or any other day, to make my mom feel special because for me every day is special with her. I find the whole idea of celebrating this day very weird as every child should make his/her mother feel special every day. What’s the point in celebrating one day and then taking her for granted for the rest of the year?
She taught me to be self-dependent
Love and pray: Karan Singh Chhabra
Every day is Mother’s Day for me but I will surely wish her and send her flowers in the morning and pray for her good health. I am planning to fly her to Mumbai and also invite her on the sets of the show I feature in. The one thing that she always taught me is to be self-dependent. I just want to say that my mother is the most special person to me in this world.
Two for joy
Sweet surprise: Pooja Banerjee
I will be shooting on Mother’s Day, but I have planned a surprise for her. This year onwards, I have two mothers; my mom and my mother-in-law. I can give them anything and they will be ecstatic, I know that. But this time, I am thinking of a sweet surprise.
Travelling overseas
Double celebration: Vahbiz Dorabjee
This Mother’s day is special for me because we are in London together. Also, it’s her birthday on May 13, so it’s a double celebration. My mother always taught me to be a balanced and positive person and be a family person.
Get well soon
Warm wishes: Daljeet Kaur
I am in the hospital right now as my mother is admitted since three days. Once I get her back home, I will take her out to somewhere wonderful and treat her. It’s very tough to see your mother or father go through the physical trouble. She always taught me to be strong and always told me to take a little time before trusting people, as I have a tendency of trusting everyone easily.
She’s always there...
Support system: Ssharad Malhotraa
My mother has given me an excellent upbringing. She never said ‘no’ for anything yet kept me, and my sister disciplined. Not a single day goes without talking to her. She has the knack to understand what I want, even if I don’t say it. She frequently visits me in Bombay. When I am low, she encourages me to look at the positive side of life.
Occupational hazards
So far: Ankit Gera
I will be wishing her on the phone, since I won’t be able to see her on that day because I am shooting. I will send her a nice bouquet as a surprise, since she loves flowers. I have learned two most important things from her: to be patient and to respect everyone.
Thoughtful gift
Mamma’s boy: Rohan Gandotra
Since we stay far from each other, I’m going to send some flowers and a card home to wish her. She loves walking, so I’m going to gift her some comfy shoes so that she can take comfortable walks.
Those nankhatai days
Sweet nothing: Mrunal Jain
My mother, Vidya Jain, is the greatest influence in my life. I still like to be fed by her. She has pampered me a lot. Whatever I am, I am because of her. I remember in the childhood she used to make special nankhatai sweets for me. During my struggling phase too, she believed in my talent.
In his heart
Proud mother: Raman Handa
This Mother’s Day, I won’t be able to meet my mother as my film is going on floors. But she stays in my heart. I feel her presence every moment.
