Mahesh Bhatt confirms daughter Alia’s relationship with Ranbir

Mahesh Bhatt in a candid interview with ‘The Telegraph’ confirmed the rumours about his daughter Alia Bhatt being in a relationship with actor Ranbir Kapoor.

Mahesh said, “Of course, they’re in love. You don’t need to be a genius to get that.”

He said whether they would go in for marriage too would be their call. He said the very institution of marriage needed to be questioned in the second decade of the 21st century.

Mahesh, who is known for being the silent type, said it out loud that the couple are in love.

The director loved Ranbir in ‘Sanju’.

“I loved Ranbir (Kapoor) but that’s not the Sanjay Dutt I know. Ranbir brought his own emotional chord to it but I don’t think Rajkumar (Hirani) was claiming to the world that he’s making an exact replica. People who are very close to Sanjay cannot connect with that portrayal in the movie. But India seems to have loved it,” he said.

A while back, Ranbir’s father, Rishi Kapoor, had expressed his feelings about the couple, saying, ‘Neetu likes her, I like her, Ranbir likes her. Get it?’

Be it for lunch, dinner or even attending the weddings the couple is always together. The relationship of the Bollywood couple has been the talk of the town for quite some time now.

On the work front, Alia will be seen with Ranbir in Ayan Mukherji’s fantasy trilogy ‘Brahmastra’ and Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’, opposite Ranveer Singh.

Ranbir has ‘Shamshera’ with Yashraj Films besides ‘Brahmastra’.
