Actor Mark Wahlberg has defended the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' decision to include a new category for outstanding achievement in popular film. The new award category will likely help the major box office draws that fail to get nominated or awarded in main category. —PTI

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
