Actress-singer Shruti Haasan is one of the few leading ladies who have managed to dabble between Hindi and the South-Indian film industry effortlessly. In addition, she has managed to carve a niche for herself in the music world as well and earlier this year, she did a series of gigs in the UK at some of London’s most prestigious venues like The Ned and Islington. Such was the success of her performances, that the organisers had approached her for another show at The Islington, which took place recently.

A source close to Shruti claims that she never wanted to confine herself to just cinema and her love for music prompted her to work on her debut album, which will be out later this year. The source said, “Shruti has been working tirelessly on her music as well as her acting commitments. The fact that her music has been received so well in the UK is validation of the fact her music strikes a chord with the listeners. She has been meeting some of the most established producers and musicians in the UK, and is leaving no stone unturned to make her debut album a success.”
